Is K2tog and K2togfl the same??

I am new to using English patterns as I am a Norwegian with norwegian as my first language. But I have recently purchased this awesome pattern in English for some really nice flowers and was wondering about this...

Is "knit 2 stitches together" (K2tog) the same as "knit 2 stitches together through the front of the loop" (K2togfl)???

And if not, what's the difference? Advice very much appreciated

I've never seen it written as k2togfl. To me though reading your description it is the same thing. Is it written both ways in the pattern?

I haven't either. I had to look right now to see if the term is actually used in the pattern itself but strangely it's not. It's only described in the list of knitting abbreviations used in the pattern, there is several there that's not been used in the pattern at all, but I see abbreviations used in the pattern that is not mentioned and explained in the abbreviations list. Hmmm.... Strange pattern lol

Yes, that is unusual, generally it's even not described as ktogtfl, but maybe the designer wanted to make sure it wasn't done tbl.
