Help with Anisette Cardi Pattern
I found this Debbie Stoller Pattern for a cardi that is so cute, and I want to knit if for my niece for her birthday, but I am having problems. First the back starts with 4 inches of ribbing, which I completed fine, but it is the next row that confuses me. Here is the deal, essentially:

It states that I should have 84 stitches after the ribbing, which I do.

Next Row:
k1, m1, k9, p1, work row 1 of chart 1 over next 11 stitches. Work row 1 of chart 2 over next 39 stitches. Work row 1 of chart 1 over next 11 stitches, p1, k11 - end with 85 stitches.

Row 1 of Chart 1 goes in this order:
k1, k1, k2tog, yarn over, k1, p1, k1, yarn over, ssk, k1, k1

Row 1 of chart 2 goes in this order:
p1, k1, p1, k1, k1, k1, k1, k1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, k1, k1, k1, k1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, k1, k1, k1, k1, k1, p1, k1, p1, k1, k1, k1, k1, k1, k1, p1, k1, p1

My problem is that I do not know if when it says to work row 1 of chart one over the next 11 stitches, if it means to do what all 11 boxes say to do. To me, that would take 89 stitches to start with because of k2tog and ssk. I know that I cannot be right, but I really want to knit this, so please, any comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks and God Bless!!!

Yes, do R 1 of the chart - k1, k1, k2tog, yarn over, k1, p1, k1, yarn over, ssk, k1, k1 - that only takes 11 sts. The YOs don't use a stitch, you just wrap the yarn around the needle and work the next stitch in the chart.

Thank you so much! That is exactly what I was doing wrong. I was counting yo as a stitch by itself and I was not considering that the m1 doesn't take a stich originally from the left needle either. Thanks, I feel so much better!
