blanket patterns for children?

A friend of mine had a baby in january, and i still havent made her anything, the baby is growing faster than ever, so im thinking of making her (the baby is a girl) a blanket that she can use as a toddler and a child. any pattern suggestions?

I'll look around, but really anything pink or somewhat lacy would look girlish.

You can make a regular baby blanket, some of them are 36 or 40" and would be fine for a toddler, for a nap blanket or whatever. Or one for the floor to play on even before she gets to walking.
