knitted cast on
Is knitted cast on considered the first row? The pattern reads: Row 1 (RS) *p1, k4, repeat from* to last st, p1. Thanks.

No. The cast on, regardless of the type...isn't Row 1.

And later on...if you are trying to count your rows from the bottom up...remember NOT to count the cast on row. It looks like a row, and it does add substance...but as per the pattern, it is not Row 1 of the directions.
