hi what does this mean ?

repeat dec row every 6th row once, evry 4th row once,
every 2nd row 4 times - 4 sts.


Does this mean I knit 6 rows then dec , then knit 4 rows then dec then knit and dec every 2nd row until it comes to an end?

Yes. Decrease on the row you're on, then knit 6 rows and decrease, knit 4 rows and decrease, then every other row 4 times and if that brings you to the end of the project, that's it. So counting that first decrease, there are 7 rows total with decreases in them.

Not quite, work 5 rows and decrease on the next one, the 6th row.

Again, only knit 3 rows and decrease on the next one which will be the 4th.

Yes, decrease every other (same as every 2nd) row, until you're down to 4 stitches.
