Pattern Problem-Help please!
I got this pattern at a yarn shop that is now closed.

Co 16 sts-------

Row 1-k2 (*yo, k 1, k3 tog, k1, yo k2)
Row 2-knit

Well it just doesnt work out.....and where is the 16 sts??? If i knit 2 and then do yo, k1, k3 tog, k1, yo and repeat that before the knit 2, it still dont work....wht possible be the pattern?? Or is the co 16 sts wrong?? thank you

K2 and then repeat (yo, k1, k3tog, k1, yo, k2) 2 times. There are 7 sts in the parens times 2 repeats and then the initialy k2 =16.
Don't count the yo's as a stitch until you finish the row.

You don't knit a stitch as part of the yo, it's just a wrap around the needle -

k2 - uses 2, 2 sts on R needle
* yo - uses 0, 3 sts on r needle
k 1 - uses 1, 4 sts
k3 tog - uses 3, 5 sts on needle
k1 - uses 1, 6 sts on needle
yo - uses 0, 7 sts on needle
k2 * - uses 2, 9 sts on needle
then repeat from * to * and that's 7 more which uses 16 and leaves you with 16.
