Armhole shaping
I'm working on a sweater and everything is going fine until i get to the armhole shaping the instructions are confusing me i was wondering if maybe someone could could give a row by row break down of what i am supposed to do

Shape armholes
Bind off at beg of row [5 (7, 7, 10, 10) sts] twice, then [0 (0, 2, 2, 2) sts] 0 (0, 4, 4, 6) times. Turn and purl across.
Dec row (RS): K1, k2 tog, k to last 3 sts ssk, k1.
Next row: Purl across. Work these 2 rows for a total of 1 (4, 3, 3,
4) times. (68, 68, 72, 76, 80 sts)
Work even in pat for 38 (38, 36, 40, 40) more rows. Piece should measure 213⁄4 (213⁄4, 221⁄4, 221⁄4, 223⁄4) inches.
Shape back neck
K20 (19, 20, 22, 24), join 2nd ball of yarn and bind off next 28 (30, 32, 32, 32) sts for back neck, k to end of row.
Working both sides at once with separate balls of yarn, bind off at neck edge [3 (3, 3, 3, 4) sts] 2 (3, 2, 3, 1) times, then [2 (0, 2, 0, 3) sts] 1 (0, 1, 0, 2) times. Complete row. Place remaining 12 (10, 12, 13, 14) shoulder sts on holders.

Note- im working on the extra large which is the last number in the parenthesis.
much thanks Sachiko

For the armholes, the instructions are:
row1: BO 10 sts
row2: BO 10 sts (so now you've bound off 10 sts on each side of the back)
rows 3-8: BO 2 sts at the beginning of each row (when you finish you'll have a gradual stairstep of decreases on each side)
row 9: purl across
row 10:k1, k2tog knit to 3 sts before the end, ssk, k1 (you can find directions for ssk under the Free Videos tab at the top of the page, decreases)
row 11: purl across
repeat rows 10 and 11 three times more(a total of 4 times)
Now you work even (that's without any more decreases) until you get to 22 3/4 inches and you're ready for the shoulder shaping. Come back if you find a problem with the neck and shoulder or if these directions aren't clear. And good luck with the sweater!
