I have a pattern calling for Bretton yarn. Is this weight of this yarn similar to worested weight or what type of yarn is a close match?

I've never heard of that one. What are you making and what size needles do they suggest?

That could be yarn brand, and many brands have different yarn weights. The needle size should be a clue to the weight.

There is a yarn from Patternworks called Bretton yarn that is 5-5.5 sts per inch on size 6-7 needles.

Thanks for looking that up. Sounds like a heavy dk or light worsted wt.
