Hi, can anyone put me right

Knitting a baby's cardigan. Beginning the left front I do 3 rows moss st then for the 4th row it says Moss st & slip 4 sts onto a stitch holder & moss st to end. Does that mean I slip 1st 4 sts (makes the most sense cos its the border) or do I p1 then slip 4 sts? I've tried it both ways but the wool that I knit the 1st st with appears to be pulled either way...

You should moss st those 4 sts and then slip to holder before working the rest of the row.
