undoing cables

I'm just learning to cable. I didn't read the scarf pattern correctly and left out the P2 between the cables, resulting in 6 extra stitches at the end. Now I don't know how to undo the stitches without getting confused. Do you put the stitches back onto the cable needle? Thanks!

You can take out that row st by st back to where you left out the first p2 sts. This is called 'tinking' and while there's not a video for it here, there should be a few on youtube.
