Simply knitting Pretty posy pattern error?
Good Morning everyone
Does anyone have a copy of Simply Knittng Issue 80 May 2011?
I am working on the Pretty Posy Baby Cardigan and I am having some issues with the right front. As the pattern is written (I have learned NOT to trust the pattern wholeheartedly) the right front decreases do not seem right to me. Before I write out the directions I would like to know if anyone has this particular pattern!
Thanks
Greta

I don't have it. Did you check their website for any corrections?

I looked on Rav and it's not on there either. I'd see if there was errata on the magazine website.

I checked the website before I posted here and there was not an errata on the magazine website, so.... what I am finding is that if I do the decreases as they are written on the purl side then they will be on the neckline Which I dont think is right. Here are the directions for the right front:
Work in SS until right front measures same as back to the decrease row.
Next row(dec row) P1, P2TOG, (P2, P2TOG)6 TIMES, P2
NEXT ROW: P4, MB, (P6,MB)2 TIMES, P3
NEXT ROW: K3, P1(K6,P1)2 TIMES, K4
ROW1: P4, K1(P6,K1)2 TIMES,P3
ROW2: K3, P1 (K6,P1)2 TIMES, K4
REPEAT ROWS 1&2 UNTIL RIGHT FRONT MEASURES SAME AS BACK TO ARMHOLES
SHAPE ARMHOLES: PATT TO LAST 2STS, PATT2TOG(ARMHOLE EDGE)
NEXT ROW: PATT2TOG, PATT TO END
WORK 2 ROWS DECREASING 1 STS AT ARMHOLE EDGE EVERY ROW
WORK ON THESE 18STS UNTIL ARMHOLE MEASURES 2 1/2 INCHES FINISH AFTER A WS ROW.

It looks like you're decreasing only at the armhole edge.

I think the direction to work until the right front measures the same as the back to the armholes is meant to be an approximate measure. You begin the shaping row at the neck edge so that you pattern across the row ending with pattern 2tog at the armhole edge. Then turn and (still at the armhole edge) pattern 2 tog, and then work to the end of the row (the neck edge).
