Summer sweater

I haven't posted for a while but kept busy this summer knitting dishcloths at the beach or during the noontime organ concerts. When at home I worked on this sweater for my daughter.

Pattern is from the Spring/Summer 2010 issue of Knitting Simple. Yarn is Plymouth Jeannee, a cotton and acrylic blend.

When I washed it the sweater grew to unbelievable proportions so I took a chance and put it in the dryer for a bit then put it on the board to finish drying. It's pretty much back to what it was before washing...thank heavens!

Love the color! Yes, cotton blends usually need to be dried in the dryer. I leave them in until just dampish, then finish drying laid out flat.

Oh that reminds me of my dilemma a few years ago, too! Yup...I figured "might as well try to shrink this sucker back into shape because as it is...it's ruined anyway! What have I got to lose? If it doesn't work...I'll have A LOT of white cotton to knit dishcloths with as I FROG!"
