Need help "designing" a hat

Hi all..A family member has asked me to whip up a hat for him (yeah right)! He has a store bought one, but wants another so I will try to describe it: Um it has 2" 2x2 rib for the band, (easy right) then the body of the hat looks like seed st. then towards the top, on the dec it's stockinette forming a star (5 points) to the end. and it's form fitting (like a skull cap)..any ideas? Or links? Thanks alot
