Dale of Norway 17105 Confusion!

Hello All,
I am dire need of help. I am trying (8th start, now) to knit this camisole. The directions call to increase on both sides at stitch marker and maintaining the pattern. Since the pattern is based on the number of stitches, when I add stitches the pattern changes. I can't seem to figure this out. I even created an excell spreadsheet of stitches and increases, but got lost. Any advice appreciated!

I couldn't find out much about this pattern. It is in a book/booklet that I don't have, Ravelry has no picture of the top, but does indicate that it is lace.

Each case of increasing like this has to be handled individually. Some are harder than others, but we would need more information to give you a really good answer. Many times you have to keep the new stitches in some sort of background stitch until you have enough of them to do a complete pattern and then start doing the pattern st over those new stitches. Sometimes you can do something a little more complex to work them into the pattern as you go, but we would need more information.

What is your repeat pattern stitch?

I managed to find a picture of this camisole. It looks like the increases are at the side seams.

I'd suggest putting a marker before the first stitch of the original stitches and after the last stitch. These would be worked as before.

To work the increased stitches in pattern, you'll have to imagine them expanding from out of the center.

So if up to row 8 you've worked the stitches as

. . . . 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 M 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. . . .
............beginning .............end
The increases stitches would look like this after the first increase would be:

. . . .8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 8 M 1 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

after the next:

. . . . .8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 8 7 M 2 1 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 and so forth.
