I've been thinking a lot lately of my grandmother who was an amazing knitter who made the most beautiful sweaters. I've been knitting for about 2 years (she passed away about 8 years ago) and I can't imagine how she did all she did and learned all she knew without boards like this, videos on YouTube, and all the patterns on Ravelry.

Thank goodness for the Internet and all these websites!

I used to be a sock guru, but I've been making so many blankets lately. Plus, I made a LOT of different projects on the Bernat Blog for the past two years. Those kept me busy, and I'm just now getting back to just knitting what I want. Can't decide what I want to do first. I have SO MUCH YARN, and not enough time to use it all.

Go GrumpyGramma! But, I think the year just ended.
Nope Seattle time I still have about 1/2 hr. I should make it. If not, I'll find one of those clocks that never got reset! Or would that take away an hour? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............

[quote=Shandeh;1338109Can you believe that I have never done a ripple stitch afghan? I did a baby size one once, but I want a big one. But, I'll be making two blankets as part of the Bernat Mystery Knit and Crochet Along for 2012. So, I guess I'll have to wait a while on the ripple. I am excited about the mystery blankets, though! [/QUOTE]

Guh! I forgot the new mystery afghan was starting soon. I still need to finish the one from last year!

I wonder the same thing too! I would be lost without places like KnittingHelp to answer my questions. For example, every time I knit socks, I come back to KnittingHelp for a refresher on the Kitchener Stitch.

You can do it! I hope you enjoy the process of making a sweater. And getting to wear it is icing on the cake!

I feel the same way! All they had was books and local friends.

There will be a new forum on that website when the project begins. I'm excited about it!

The thing I'm most excited about, though, is that I have decided to start my first sweater tomorrow! Our LYS is having a 30% off all yarn sale for tomorrow, so I've decided to seize the opportunity. I think I knit baby blankets ALL YEAR last year, which I love, BUT Ireally want to do something with SHAPE this year.
I love sweaters! I jumped right to a sweater, very ambitious. Have fun with one. I hate weaving in these ends right now.
