Toe Sock Pattern

Simple question:

In this pattern, she has toes to knit. My circumference is 48 sts, hers 56. Since I'm only interested in getting the toes part done, how can I alter the pattern to suit my foot?

You could decrease each toe proportionalely by 1/7 (the decrease from 56 to 48 sts). That would mean working with 1 or 2 fewer sts on each toe.
The pattern actually goes down to 66sts after the toes and then decreases to 56sts. You could pick up about 57sts from the toes and then decrease to 48sts. It may take some playing around to get the fit that you want.
