how to read pattern

Hi, i can't read pattern but i can knit. I came across a lovely pattern, can someone explain what *K1. yo. K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. means????? K1 stand for knit 1stitch but what is yo??? thanks for your help. althea64

yo is yarn over. You bring the yarn to the front between the needles and then over the right hand needle. There's a video of it on the Glossary page or on the Free Videos tab under Increases. Do the k1, yo, knit 2 together and repeat on the remaining stitches until you get to the end of the row.
