Flipping knitting charts

I'm wondering if you can take a knitting chart and flip it over so that you do the top section of the chart first. If you can do this, besides turning the thing over, what else do you have to do differently?

Odd question, I know, but I'm thinking of flipping a chart of leaves over so that the leaves face point down, and I'd also like to know for future reference.

You could just rotate the chart (and page) 180 degrees and work it as usual. That way the upper left corner becomes the lower right corner and that's where you would start.

I'd suggest you try out the chart over a couple stitch repeats to see if it works. The incs and decs might not work out reversed or make the same pattern.

Ugh! So I need to do a swatch, huh? Well, that's better than messing up my sweater, so I'll just have to give it a try. Or find a similar pattern with leaves facing the correct direction.
