Seed Stitch instructions in wrap pattern

I have a pattern for a wrap that says:

Seed Stitch
Row 1: K1P1 to end
Row2: knit to purl sts and purl the knit sts. Rep rows 1 and 2 for Seed stitch.

That I understand but then the patterns says:
Row 1: K1, P1, K1
Row 2: K1, work K1, P1, K1 in next st, K1
Row 3: Seed St across
Row 4...

Later in the pattern it also says to seed stitch in a certain number of stitches in within a row.

I'm trying to branch out from only scarves and I thought this pattern was very cute and easy but now I'm stuck on what to do. Any help or thoughts would really be appreciated.

The directions in row 2 are really an increase. You have 3 sts at the end of row 1 and at the end of row 2 you'll have 5sts. You're to increase by working 3sts into that second st. Do that by starting out to knit as usual but don't drop the knit st off the left needle. Bring the yarn around to the front between the needles and begin the purl into the same st but again, don't drop the st off the left needle. Finally, bring the yarn to the back between the needles, knit into the same st on the left needle and now drop it off the left needle. You'll have 3st on the right needle in place of that one.

I wasn't clear, I'm asking specifically about integrating the seed stitch for Row 3. Is that really 2 rows as explained in the definition or is it only row 1. Or could it be knitting into the purl stitches and purling into the knit stitches.

It won't matter how you start the seed st on row 3, either with a knit or a purl st. It won't start to look like seed st until the next row or so. Or you might do the increase as p1kip1 which would alternate sts and integrate into seed st.

Row 3 says to Seed St across but Row 4 says that following:

Row 4: K1, P1, work K1, P1, K1 in next St, P1, K1-7sts.

Row 5: Seed St across.

Are the odd rows actually 2 rows? Clearly, I'm not understanding this pattern.

No the odd rows are single rows. I followed the directions, starting the seed st rows on a knit st and it looks fine for the first 5 rows. Seed st with a eyelet at the increases. Can you post a link to the pattern?

By doing the double inc on row 2 you'll be setting it up for them to be knit in pattern on row 3. Try it and you'll see how it works. Then again on row 4 you do another increase. The double incs will keep all the sts in pattern on the odd rows, just a single inc won't.
