Shaping sholders and back of neck
I can't figure these directions out.....help......
This is a cardigan sweater "Hester" from the book Rowan Homestead Classics.
This book is written in England and not in America. I think this is where my problem is......the instructions are so different that I don't understand them. Could someone please translate them into American English for me? This is not my first cardigan sweater.
Instructions read:
Shape shoulders and back neck:
Cast off 7 sts at beg of next 2 rows. 57 sts
I have done the two rows of casting off...no problem. I know that the word "patt" means to continue in pattern.
Nest row (RS): Cast off 7 sts, patt until there are 10 sts on right needle and turn, leaving rem sts on a holder.
Work each side of neck separately.
Cast off 4 sts at beg of next row.
Cast off rem 6 sts.
With RS facing, rejoin yarn to rem sts, cast off centre 23 sts, patt to end.
Complete to match first side, reversing shapings.
Thanks in advance!
