Pattern puzzle 2
Hi there,

actually I came to this page because I got the same problem described here under "pattern central" in a thread named "pattern puzzle" and I still found no way to a solution. Even the people around me being able to knit a bit couldnīt solve it yet. Maybe someone here can help me with this:

At the End a pattern with numbers should appear ... something like

ab.cde / fg.hij

Any help is appreciated. During my search through the internet I found some programs ... but it seems like they doing it just the other way around (you draw it in java or so and it generates these cryptic instructions ... )

You can actually graph this out yourself if you use a filled square for the purls and a blank square for the knits on the odd rows and vice versa on the even rows. Read the odd rows from right to left and the even rows from left to right. You can chart in Excell or by hand.

Hey salmonmac,

thanks for your reply. Actually this is what my girlfriend (who knows a little about knitting socks etc.) did before I posted this problem here. We have four excel pages of this pattern and none of them shows anything similar to numbers (or any other regular shape). This is confusing especially for me as I thought instructions like these are well-defined with only one possible solution ...
