Pretty Lace Triangle Pattern

I really, really, really need some help. I contacted the company and they sent me the corrections. I have posted the incorrect version in red and the correct version in yellow. However, it its still not working. I completed row 5 with 239 stitches as instructed. Row 6 K2 Purl to last 2 stitches K2.
When I get to just before the 8th stitch I have an extra stitch. I do not understand where the extra is coming from, when my total stitch count is correct. I hope have explained enough. If you need more info please let me know. Thank you so much!

Hmmm, the sts outside the repeats are knit differently in the two versions, but they both use the same number of stitches. Is the pattern this one from Patons?

Looking at the stitch numbers, the new version adds 8 sts on row 7, plus 239 equals the 247 you should have, so the numbers add up. If you're talking about not having an extra stitch in the 8 sts before the center st, it may be that your marker moved over and what seems to be the center stitch isn't. That's the only thing I can think of now.

I bolded the 8 extra sts that increase the st count to 247. When this happens to me, I go back over the row and name the sts as I count them off (the yo, the double decrease, etc). I also think that stitch markers will make this much easier and help maintain your sanity in the face of so many sts.

And if you haven't already, also include a lifeline every 4 or 5 rows--to further maintain your sanity if you have to tear something out.

thank you for your reply. Yes this is the pattern. I am so frustrated. I have been this far before, but with an error, and not knowing what I was doing I had to take it all out. This is my 4th time going all the way back from various and I don't want to rip it all out again. I made a chart in my excel program and I highlight so that I know I did each step. But this one is stumping me.
No, I have 1 extra stitch, so instead of 8 before center, I have 9 before center.
I know this sounds silly, but how can I tell how many stitches there should be before I get to the 8 before center? I have 111 stitches before 8 before center. This count is prior to knitting the 7th row.

If you have 111 sts plus 9 on one side of the center st, how many do you have on the other? You shouldn't have that many - 239 minus 1 for the center stitch is divided by 2 is 119, so you have 1 too many which may have come on row 5 or even row 3 and that's why you've got 9 instead of 8. Count your total number of sts again, maybe you have one less on the other side of the center stitch.

Somewhere you added an extra yo or forgot a dec. Instead of ripping out, go back to row 5 and look at your sts. Name them - edge st, yo, 7 knits, yo, 1 knit, yo, 3 knits, double dec (did you dec 2 sts here or only 1?), 3 knits, yo, and so on. That's usually how you can find where the mistake was, and fix it by dropping down to that and doing it right.

At the end of row 6 you should have 239sts. The center stitch is one and there should be 119 on either side of center. So 8sts before the center would be 111sts. So you're good at that point.
On row 7 you want to end with 247 (one center st and 123 sts on either side of it. Just look at the first half: You increase 4 times before the center stitch (2 YOs near the beginning and 2 YO's before the center). So as you're doing row 7, at the "8sts before center" you should have 113sts.
