Tree with Elephant blanket
I saw a pattern for green tree washcloths in OH SO SWEET BABY KNITS and decided to start an 111 stitch blankets with 3 blocks of ollive green trees. When I run out this color I will switch to 3 blocks of elephants in white. Does anyone like to knit with knitting color charts I just started using them.

I've done lots of picture knitting. Works of art!

Your pattern idea sounds like lots of fun to do. I think working from charts for color knittingi is much easier than following written instructions. I enjoy it.

I prefer charts for every type of knitting rather than the line-by-line written instructions. I purchased a pdf scarf pattern a few years ago, and I appalled to find only written, line-by-line instructions! It was quite a complex "leaves" pattern design, and should have had charts included. I tossed the whole thing aside. About a year later, the designer finally coughed up charts!

You'll love working from charts if you give it half a chance, I promise!
