help with sock pattern

Hi,
I'm new to Knitting Help and sort of new to knitting in general.
Has anyone made the Gem of a Sock pattern by Mary Maxim? I'm having trouble making the heel. thanks

What in particular is causing troubles with the sock pattern? You can quote a row or two of the pattern if that helps explain the problem.
