Arthur was laid to rest on Monday, October 8, 2012. Rest in peace. Welcome home. Special thanks to the veteran motorcycle escort and to the Menomonie Native American vets who acted as color guards. God bless you all.

Here's an update. Arthur's brother, Don, attended his military funeral. Don had been suffering from brain cancer and was in hospice care. He was in a wheelchair and very fragile at the graveside. Sadly, Don lost his battle with cancer this week. He will be laid to rest next to his brother. He got his dying wish for closure. May they both rest in peace.

Thanks. The funeral's on Friday. We're trying to corral my mother, too. We spent Monday night in the hospital with her. She had an emergency appendectomy at 80 years old. She wants to be independent and drive to the funeral. We told her, no way after abdominal surgery. I have to work so I can't take her. I TG that my daughter is back from Washington. She's stepping in and taking her Grandma to the funeral. I'm so grateful for her help.

May your mother heal well and swiftly. Daughters turn out to be good people. My daughter has asked me how she ever lived long enough to make me a grandma. Now, if I need her, she's always there. Her DH is really great too. I think we're very blessed.
