Hi Jan,
the pattern is in dutch language. I was trying to translate it, and I have a hard time with a triangle symbol in the middle.
An help would be appreciated it.

Can you link to the pattern? (Don't post the whole pattern because its a copyright violation) Designers don't all use the same symbols so its impossible to say without knowing more.

Here is dutch version of the pattern reading:

Volgende naald: Ga verder met garen B: laat een draad einde hangen en brei 2 steken in iedere steek. Dit doe je door vóór en áchter in iedere rechte steek te breien. Totaal aantal steken: 48.
Volgende naald: Averecht.


Kijk nu op de grafiek. Begin in rij 1: de grijze (rand)steken zijn het begin en einde van iedere naald, herhaal st. 3-13 vier keer over de middelste 44 steken. Zet eventueel een markeerringetje tussen de herhalingen.
Rij 1: 2 recht, Markeer Ring, *(1r, omsl, 3r, Dubb.Mind., 3r, omsl, 1r, Markeer Ring)
*herhaal 4 X, 2 recht.
Rij 2: en alle averechte naalden: 2 recht, averecht tot de laatste 2 st ., 2 recht.
Rij 3: 2r, *(2r, omsl., 2 r, Dubb.Mind, 2r, omsl, 2r) herhaal 4 X, 2 recht.
Rij 5: 2r, *(3r, omsl, 1r, Dubb.Mind, 1r, omsl, 3r) herhaal 4 X, 2 recht.
Rij 7: 2r, *(4r, omsl, Dubb.Mind, omsl, 4r) herhaal 4 X, 2 recht.
Rij 9: Alle steken recht.
Rij 10: 2r, brei averecht tot de laatste 2 steken: 2 recht.
Ga verder met garen C en herhaal bovenstaande 10 rijen nog 3 keer.

That's not really helpful unless some speaks Dutch. We need a picture. Most patterns are on the Internet which is why I asked for a link. Sometimes we can help figure it out from the picture. Photo posting instructions and acceptable sizes can be found at the link in my signature.

If that is the whole pattern you need to edit it or remove it. Knitting Help can get into trouble for posting a whole pattern.

I think the |s are knits and the - s are purls. The O is yarnover/yo, the triangle looks like a double decrease - either sl 1, k2tog, psso, or sl 2, k1 psso. This page has some dutch knitting terms with the english equivalents which might help.

Here's a link to the Ruffled Roses Scarf, still in Dutch. I'd go with Sue's translation and the centered double decrease.
