substituting yarn

I want to substitute sirdar click dk for Rowan felted Tweed DK ( mainly because it is cheaper) Has anyone done this and did it work OK? I know I will have to check tension etc. The pattern is a fair isle cardigan so quite complicated so I want to be sure it will work before I buy the wool. Thanks

The Sirdar is a slightly thicker yarn but you still should be ok. Do a gauge swatch and see what you get and whether you like the knit fabric. You can always adjust the pattern by taking out a few sts if necessary.
