Oh, that could be a whole thread in and of itself. "Knitting Scenes in Movies". One of my favorites is in "Repo Man" (1984) when you realize that Plettschner is working on ... a placemat or something. There's no big buildup or anything, you just alla sudden see this guy with a piece of knitting in his lap. They never mention it even, they just leave it to you to notice it.
