I'm a new knitter and I'm having trouble with bodice directions and I'm hopeful there is someone here who can clarify them. The pattern is Scoop Neck Cardigan by Fiesta. These are the directions for the first two rows of the bodice:
Row 1: k1, (p1, k1) 4x's, *k2p2* to last 9 sts, k1, k1 (p1,k1) 4x's
Row 2: k1, (p1,k1) 4x's, *p2, k2 rep from * to last 9 sts, k2, k1, (p1, k1) 4x's.
For Row 1, the pattern of k1, k1 (p1,k1) 4x's is 10 stitches - not 9.
For Row 2, the pattern at the end of the row is 11 stitches - not 9.
More info...the pattern calls for 184 stitches for S (200, 216, 232 for largers sizes).
Am I reading this correctly?
Thank you for any help you can give.

Yes, it seems there's an error in these rows. It works out if you make it:
Row 1: k1, (p1, k1) 4x's, *k2p2* to last 11 sts, k2, k1 (p1,k1) 4x's
Row 2: k1, (p1,k1) 4x's, *p2, k2 rep from * to last 11 sts, p2, k1, (p1, k1) 4x's.
That way the numbers add up to 184 for the smallest size and the other sizes also work. Basically you want to keep the edge 9sts in seed stitch and the rest in k2p2 rib. It would probably help to put a marker at either end to mark off the edge stitches from the ribbing and then the rest of the pattern on the bodice.
I would probably send them an e-mail about this. They may not do anything, but you at least would have the satisfaction of trying to right the wrong for others.
