Hey Everyone,

Amy recently filmed a new tutorial video aimed at beginning knitters and we've just finished editing it and added it to the site. It's 45 minutes in length and is basically a step-by-step walkthrough for the new knitter, leading them through the basics of casting on, knit and purl stitches, identifying stitches on the needle, basic stitch patterns, binding off, etc. It's the most comprehensive How-To video we have ever produced. And like the majority of the content here at KnittingHelp.com, it's entirely FREE!

Oh, and as an added bonus, you get to see Amy in this video, and not just her hands.

So if you're a newish knitter, grab your yarn and needles and work your way through the video. Or, if you know someone who wants to learn to knit, forward this video on to them.

I pinned the 3 videos in my Pinterest, shared the 3 links on my FB, and tweeted all 3 on my Twitter.

I set up an email to myself, with all three links...and I will be able to forward that email to all of my student knitters! Yay!

BTW: Amy's voice is very relaxing. I find it easy to listen to her for any length of time. I can't say the same thing about other knitting teachers on the internet.

Very helpful and easy to follow. I think this series makes the step-by-step of knitting much easier to understand. If I didn't already knit, these videos would convince me to pick up some needles and yarn. Thanks very much for putting it all together!

P.S. When I click on the Shop tab and then hover my mouse over the Forum tab, I get a weird selection of options under the Forum tab (KH Forum and Photowall). The KH Forum button works, but the Photowall displays a 404 error.

Thanks. That's something I have been meaning to fix. The store uses a different template than the rest of the site. The photowall is a relic of the past. It was a place where people could tag their photos on flicker and have them appear on that page on KH.

Is it OK to ask here, why when I copy paste do I get the extra stuff at the end? Example:

I dunno, it's something to do with your browser maybe. When I use a laptop that's set up with Windows 7 (or it may be 8), when I highlight and paste in a link it's not hidden in the message window like on my computer. It's fine after the message is posted and appears in the thread.

Hmmm.....I've not changed browsers but there have been updates. I'll try Chrome and see if it does the same thing. *Hold muzack*

OK, it's Firefox, maybe an update changed something or I inadvertently changed a setting, I'll have to see if I can figure it out. Thanks, Sue! It never occurred to me to try another browser.

Now that I think of it.. I use an older version of Firefox at home and the laptop has Chrome. So it's Chrome that doesn't 'behave as expected' for me!

It's part of the new ShareThis widget that appears to the left side of the screen on every page. I actually don't like that it started doing that and have been meaning to find out if it can be disabled.
