Copyright information
I recently bought an old Columbia-Minerva pattern book at a local thrift store. I was trying to find out when this was published and can't find any dates or copyright notes in the book.
The only thing I found was this statement on the last page:
"Boye" products are used exclusively by our design staff in creating the fashions illustrated in this book and are specified herein in accordance with an agreement whereby the buplishers receive consideration for such specification.

Is this considered a copyright? There aren't any dates on this at all.
The book's called: Columbia Minerva Beehive Baby Book volume 723 and has a price of 60 cents.
Anyone know when this was published?

The volume number should be searchable to find out the time.

See if it's been turned into an e-book here:

They always have the copyright information on anything they reproduce.

Looked darn near everywhere, the closest estimate anyone has is the 1960's. Sorry :(

Thanks everyone for looking up and finding the publishing date on the pattern book.
I think I found the copyright on the front cover. In the very bottom left corner there is a C with a circle around it and C-M Corp behind it. What happens if the Corp. it was copyrighted under doesn't exist any longer? Columbia Minerva was bought out by another company.
One of the gals at my LYS would like to have a copy of one of the patterns but I don't want to get into trouble for giving it to her.

Then the copyright belongs to the new company.

I'm thinking that as long as you don't profit from the pattern you should be okay. You could try and get in touch with the new company and ask their permission, I've noticed alot of designers who want to share a free pattern say you can use it so long as you don't sell it.

Pretty sure Caron International has the copyright for all of the old Columbia Minerva. Just google the two companies together and you will find some references.
