Icelandic knitting chart query
Have come to the part where start using charts. 1st chart at the bottom of it says "start here" on right of chart. 1 stitch in there is a bracket under which it says repeat these 10 stitches. 2 stitches later says finish here. There are 12 rows to the chart. It's the repeat these 10 rows that is confusing me duh??????????
Any help would be much appreciated as there are 6 different charts in total.
Cheers

Hi and welcome to KH!
Sounds like lots of fun. I'm assuming it's 10 stitches you're asking about?
The chart may contain a repeat of 10sts (sometimes these repeats are set off with a bracket or boxed in red). Repeat those 10sts however many times the pattern indicates or for however many sts you have, then do the final 2sts up to the "finish here". It may help to count your sts now to see that you have the required number for the beginning, 10st repeat and then end of the chart.
Can you tell us the name of the pattern or give a link to the pattern?

Blimey that was quick
I tried to load pic of chart but won't resize to correct size..argh.
It's a 1980's pattern book - Lady's coat designed by Sunneva Hafsteinsdottir. Don't know if there is an email address that I could email it to through normal channels.
Thing is I did a lot of Icelandic jumpers in the 80's and don't recall having a problem - mind I was a bit younger then but you'd think at 54 I'd still have some grey cells left, ha.......
Thanks for your help.

Glad it worked out. I'm sure it's just a matter or getting your "Icelandic" mind set back. Questions are great and all are welcome. Do post a photo of the finished sweater if you'd like.

I think it's always great to have another brain to look at the problem because they might be seeing what you didn't! Always good to put the problem out to this forum, so many talented people here! Glad it worked out.
