Knitting a flower & a bag.
Hello, i'm new to knitting and i bought a "knit your own bag" kit from wilkinsons.

im onto making the flower, i have made the 5cm that i needed for the center.

it now tells me to use a sewing needle to fix the shape, How do i do that? also, how do i sew it onto the actual bag??

Any help is appreciated!

These are the exact instructions.

"Now,roll up the string untill you can a circular piece. When you do the rolling, the knit side should be facing out."

"Take a peice of the same colour yarn and use the sewing needle to fix the shape"

Not sure why it says "untill you can" lol

Sounds like a typo. Probably should say "until you can form a circle" or something along those lines. Then sew it into that shape instead of flat.

Beyond that, it's hard to say unless you can link to a picture of the actual pattern. I tried, but came up with a lot of bags.

it says

14.Now, let's start knitting the flower. For the flowe center use a new yarn to cast 4 stitches on the knitting needle

15. Knit the first row with the purl stitch.

16. Then knit the second row with knit stitch and change back to purl stitch on the third row. Keep using these two stitching methods alternative untill you get a 5cm string.

17. Use the bliding of stitch at the end of the string and weave the ends.
18. Now, roll up the string untill you can forma circular piece. when you do the rolling, the knit side should be facing out.

19. take a piece of same colour yarn and use the sewing knitting to fix the shape.

I take "to fix the shape" to mean to sew it so it stays rolled up.

There is some odd wording and I can't guess what the bliding of stitch from row 17 means at all.

I've found the link to the kit http://www.wilko.com/craft-kits/wilk...126?VBMST=knit, but no picture of the finished bag or flower.

The instructions scream 'lost in translation' to me and bliding of stitch is binding off stitch.

enlightenrose, is the flower ment to be a rose(bud)?

Canning circular pieces and bliding of stitches! How very quaint! And funny!

Maybe you can find a pattern for a similar flower and just use it. Ravelry has free flower patterns. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sear...free&sort=best Sometimes Plan B is a good idea.

In that case I think they want you to take one short end of the rectangle you've knitted and swing it round in an arc to butt up against the other short end. Then use some more of the yarn to sew those ends together and then sew the outer edge of your circle (slightly) in towards the inner edge at five fairly equal points round the circle/flower.
