Artlady knows all about DRY RUNS!
I once knit five sleeves to get two that were to my liking! I knit two collars to get one. It was for the Sylvie hooded coat. Then when it was all seamed and done, I took it apart cuz it's so heavy it needs lining. Come to find out, raglan style construction offer little support at the shoulders. The pattern stitch offered no support. The whole coat stretched south. My sleeves became mountain gorilla length. Today, my beautiful Sylvie coat sits in neatly folded pieces, covered by the lining yardage I purchased, vwaiting for me to have the courage to line the upper body by quilting the chiffon to the yoke area, re-seam all, and knit up yet collar or hood. BAH! It's been waiting for three years.

This is a true UFO.

Oh, my goodness! Well, if my Aran sweater doesn't work out, I won't feel too badly then. Another slogan for us, practice makes perfect

Just finished the second KFB row of the ruffle, now there are over 1400 stitches for each row Here's a picture of the shawl thus far. The second photo is a close-up of the ruffle, the first KFB row begins just below the eyelet row, the ruffle is beginning to take shape

It sure is pretty! You couldn't have used a better yarn and color for it! Great work!

Those huge rows are killers, aren't they? ! !

The last row took over an hour; when I read project notes about this yarn, one raveler remarked that the yarn has a tendency to be sticky, and that it is easy to knit two stitches together inadvertently. Hah, I thought, won't happen to me Nevertheless, it is worth it for this project. I love how the fabric feels and the color...

It would be helpful if I had some pointier needles, but, alas, I don't. We go into town shortly so I thought I might try the LYS as well as a couple of craft stores.
