1936 wheat ear cable jumper
Hi everyone, I just joined today. As per usual, I have a few projects going at one time. I'm a great one for starting, but not so great at finishing...the project I'm most likely to complete, however, is a vintage 1936 pattern from a Stitchcraft magazine I bought from ebay a few months ago. I'm attaching an image of the pattern itself and an image of the WIP. The WIP looks green in the photo but it's actually a lovely rich camel colour; the yarn is Red Heart Soft Touch. A bit thicker than the yarn called for but I made allowances and the fit is very nearly perfect. Since taking that photo (I pinned it up on the dress form to give myself inspiration to actually keep going and finish the darn thing!) I've finished the right shoulder and got my shoulder seams stitched. I just need to pick up and knit the neckband, sew the side seams, get the sleeves on and assemble my linked buttons. Phew. I don't know how many hours I've put into this jumper, but still have a ways to go. Still, I'm determined to finish it!

That's lovely. I, too, look forward to seeing it finished. You do beautiful work.

Hi and welcome! Can't wait to see the finished object!

The only difference between an experienced knitter and new knitter is that the experienced knitter makes bigger mistakes faster. Be bold; there are no terrible consequences in knitting.
