picking up stitches on circular needle
I am knitting this snuggle bag..cast on 25 stitches on 25 sts. knit in st. stich for 27 rows.

I am then to pick up 25 sts down, side, 25 sts across botom, 25 sts up opposite side for a total of 100 stitches and then start knitting in the round.

I know how to pick up sts and I understand the directions, but I can't figure how I am going to be able to continue knitting, won't I be on the opposite end from the needle point? I

It sounds like this is the bottom panel and you're picking up sts to knit the body of the snuggle. You'll be picking up sts with the needle end held in your right hand. These are circular needles, right? That'll be the needle with the yarn end coming off it. After you've picked up on three sides you'll be back to the beginning of the knit row The needle in your right hand will have the picked up sts and the working yarn end and the left needle will have the live sts from the stockinette st panel. You'll knit across the live sts and continue around on the picked up sts.
