Crazy daughter
My middle daughter is about 2/3rds of the way up Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa. Yeah she's certifiable!!! A group of friends are doing the climb with a tour/guide. So far all is well as of a blog post earlier today.
She is also the one who just completed her 5th full Ironman race in July!!
I guess these kinds of things are what keep her sane after her husband left a few years ago.
All I can say is more power to her!!

I'm in awe. It's not an easy climb but it must be beautiful. Congrats to her on that and the Ironman.

Daughter update.
At last post yesterday they were at their last camp before heading up to the summit.
That camp is at a little over 15,900 feet.
The person posting said all are doing pretty well and that they are heading out Sunday around midnight to start the last section up to the summit. I'm not sure whether she meant midnight US time or midnight Africa time. Africa time they are at least 6-8 hours ahead of us here in Michigan. Texas time they are one hour behind us.
All said they are probably already hiking their last leg of the journey.
Will keep you all posted.

Is she trying to climb all the highest peaks or one on each continent or something?

Nope, this is the same trip I wrote about a few days ago. It's a tour climb with guides and porters for the heavy stuff.
They camp along the way up the same mountain, Mt Kilaminjaro, and each stop is a higher elevation.
Once they get back down to earth, pun intended, they are heading for a safari for a few days then to the coast for a few days before heading home.
I'm jealous as I've been to Africa 3 times on mission trips for my church and have loved each trip. Hope to go back again some day.

Yeah, I got that it was this trip, but I wondered if she was going to climb others.

Not this trip.
Just got word this morning that they made it to the top!!!
She wrote it was very cold, very beautiful, and the air was very, very thin.
They are at 19,400 feet!!!
Wonder they can breathe at all.

Yeah, that's crazy! I notice thinner air at even 10,000 ft! Congrats to her!
