The Box Stitch
There was a discussion somewhere earlier on this forum, don't know if it was here (Pattern Central) or somewhere else. Anyway, I thought I would share the link to this stitch pattern. It is called the "Box Stitch" and produces the same stitch pattern as the "Double Seed Stitch", the stitch multiple being the difference.

And this stitch (Double Seed) is also referred to as the Double Moss Stitch.

Only the names have been changed... Talk about confusing! I've seen those called moss stitch too.

I think this might be the thread that clairweber is refering to:

http://www.knittinghelp.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=114024

If it is, then I'm the one who's guilty of resurrecting the Box Stitch or Double Moss Stitch debate.

Personally, I think the difference in the stitch multiples is a bit of a red herring.

After all, I don't think anyone is going to look a a finish item, count the sitiches and say:

"You've got 100 stitches per row here, so you were doing Double Seed Stitch, as it's divisible by four. Then here you increased by 2 stitches, so it's not divisble by four, which means you were doing Box Stitch. Then at this point you increased by another 2 stitiches so you went back to Double Seed Stitch."

However, I do appreciate that they gave the instructions for both stitch multiples to get people on the right road.
