Beginning stitches
I would like to know how to begin a blanket stating with using 2+2 stitches. Can anyone help?

I assume your pattern says to CO a multiple of 2 + 2.

Essentially the pattern has to be a multiple of two (any number divisible by 2), then add 2 more for the selvedge sts.

10 + 2 = 12
22 + 2 = 24
48 + 2 = 50

How many depends on 1) how wide you want the blanket to be and 2) your gauge.
