Heel Flap
I'm making a pair of socks. I'm on the heel flap. I know some say to knit until the flap is square. Is there any down side to making the flap shorter. I am using sock yarn. I have 72 stitches in the round. I kept half of them for the flap.

Any insight is appreciated.

Making the flap shorter would make the part around the heel/ankle tighter. This could make them harder to put on. I have to make mine slightly longer because of a high instep. So it depends on your foot.

When asking questions ALWAYS post the name and a link for the pattern if you have it.
