Working on Baby blankets
I am working on baby blankets right now. One for a blog friend and two baby blankets for my youngest son's best friend. He and his wife are expecting twin boys in Dec.They are not going to dress them in identical outfits so I decided that the baby blankets should be different too. One is a design I thought up of bands of stockinette and garter stitch. Narrow stripe of each give it a lovely texture. The second blanket is different in that I have a garter eyelet lace strip between wide strips of stockinette. The only thing that is the same about the blankets is the borders , both are garter stitch on each blanket. The blog friend's blanket was knitted in the same garter eyelet lace stripe and stockinette but using a multicolored yarn in baby colors.

The only difference between an experienced knitter and new knitter is that the experienced knitter makes bigger mistakes faster. Be bold; there are no terrible consequences in knitting.

Beautiful blankets! I like your designs too. Those will be well-loved blankets, I'm sure.

Thank you ladies for your comments! I am going to be really busy in the next few weeks making my knitted Christmas gifts for my family that wanted them and a couple of pairs of mittens for several children that come through my crossing(I am a school crossing guard)I just thought I should show you all why I had not been visiting on the boards.

You are going to be busy for a while. Do you see many children at your crossing that need mittens and can't get them? I've been thinking of taking some to the elementary schools for them to give to kids with cold hands.
