FO: "Hatchling" baby cardigan
Finished another baby sweater (Hatchling) for the young mother in our congregation. Baby girl due in January! It's their first baby!

The sweater is 9" from shoulder to hem. Sleeves 5.5". Chest width at underarm: 7.5"
I'm pretty sure this will fit the baby from day one. I knit the very smallest size.

Used only 225 yards! Half the skein. Yup, the buttons cost more than the yarn on this one!
This was a very easy pattern. It was knit in one piece up to the armpits, then the upper body sections were knit independently. The buttonbands were "knit in" as you go.

My Ravelry notes.

ArtLady, another amazing creation. I'm in awe.

The only difference between an experienced knitter and new knitter is that the experienced knitter makes bigger mistakes faster. Be bold; there are no terrible consequences in knitting.

Checked out all 32 projects on Ravelry and this little sweater is stunning in white...and I might add, really stands out amongst the others.

Have added pattern to my Ravelry library...should get to it if I live to 95!

Thanks Judy! I thought a classic white cabled cardigan would be very versatile, and at the same time very unusual and collegiate. How many times do you see an itty bitty infant in a grown-up cabled sweater?

It's a well written pattern. You'll like knitting it, even if you're 95!
