FOs Hats for DDs
It's been awhile since I've posted pictures due to a new camera that didn't want to download to the computer. Now found out that my laptop has a slot for card readers so fixed the problem.
Anyway these are the hats I did for 2 of my daughters for Christmas. First Fair Isle project. Used a free Malbrigo pattern I got at Stitches Midwest and Plymouth Select Merino Superwash yarn.

Lovely. I'd never guess it was your first time with Fair Isle. They're beautiful gifts.

Like GG, I would never guess this is your first Fair Isle project. Those are beautiful, and very smart to use superwash, no worries about losing your work to a washing mistake.

Oh how nice! I do admire people who can do Fair Isle knitting. I've tried and tried, and I just can't seem to get my tension right. (The floats on the back side.) Your hats are wonderful!

The first one I did was the white and teal colored one. The tension isn't as even as I'd like it to be, but by the time I got to the top of the first hat I'd improved a lot so the second one(black and white) is much better.
I was trying to learn continental style knitting and even took a class in it so maybe something rubbed off cause I finally figured out how to hold the yarn in my left hand so I could be more consistent with the tension.
