Another year, another pr of Christmas socks and "Running in Circles"
Back from the cruise. We had a fabulous time and the weather was wonderful. I will post one little picture of Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones in Cozumel. Good ole Davy stuck his creepy skeleton hand in my hair and it got stuck that is why I am laughing.
As for the knitting. The socks are for the 13 yr old grandson who has big feet (size 10 men's) and skinny legs so don't know if they will stay up or not. The hat is for my niece who wanted a hot pink hat. It is a ravelry pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...in-circles-hat
The yarns are both knitpicks. The socks are Imagination fingering in Castle Walls and the hat is Shine sport in Cosmopolitan.

Beautiful knits you've got there. Love the hat and the socks. Size 10? I'm glad my 13-yr. old grandson isn't there yet.

So are you already planning what to knit on next year's crusise?

Great hat and socks, you are well on your way with your Christmas presents! Castle Walls is a great name for that yarn, the color is indeed reminiscent of a castle wall.

I'm assuming you wouldn't have mentioned this except that it's important to you. Are you working with his actual measurements - foot length, circumference of foot at its widest, instep measurement taken on the diagonal from the back of the heel and around the foot, and his ankle circumference? With those measurements you can make a sock that fits his foot specifically and is sized to fit his ankle and whatever part of the leg it covers. My DD just got the measurements of my SIL's foot so that I can make his to custom fit him.
