Please help -'I'm stuck.
Hello. I am stuck midway in a pattern that I can't seem to figure out and I am reaching out for help to anyone who can help me if you have the book. I am working on the Discover Hat pattern from the Rowan Warm & Toasty book. I am at a halt on the shape crown decrease. Where it says,"work 3 rows", I'm like, what 3 rows? Plus it says in parentheses that it's suppose to be double in stitches after row 5?

Row 1 RS : Knit
Row 2: purl
Row 3 & 4: as rows 1 & 2
Row 5: inc once in each st to end. 82 start.*
Row 6: *k2tog,rep from * to end. 41 sts.*
These 6 rows form pattern.
Work in pattern for a further 8 row, ending wig RS facing next row.*

Shape crown
Row 1 RS : (k3, k2tog) 8 times, k1. *33 sts.*
Work 3 rows ( noting that there will be 66 sets after this rep of pattern row 5).
Row 5:(k2, k2tog) 8 times, k1. 25 sts.*

The rest (not included) I can follow.

Thanks so much.

It might be quicker to get help if you write out the directions that you are having trouble with.

Ok. I was skeptical about doing that didn't want to break any rules.

It's ok to post a few lines of the pattern. It's not ok to post an entire pattern.

That looks like a typo to me.

You should work 3 rows even, without increases or decreases and then work row 5, decreasing 8 more times.

You can try to check for errata on the Rowan website, but it can't possibly work as written.

Does the pattern define what "sets" are? I agree with Ingrid, perhaps a typo. Go by the stitch counts at the ends of the rows to check that you have done the row correctly and you should be fine.

Got it, thanks. Yes, I feel it might have been an err but wasn't sure and took to research and couldn't find anything. I will continue as you suggested and see how that pans out. Thank you so much for helping.
