Questions about a chart
I am working on a shawl that has a chart that I am confused about how to work it. The shawl is the Ginkgo Shawlette but I am working it in Knit Picks swish DK yarn. The pattern has me start at the top and knit down to the bottom . The chart has a funny look with repeats of the pattern in a triangle shape like this /\ ___v1v___/\ . There are blank squares in the chart before I reach the area of the chart where I would start. Do I knit those squares as I have been doing until I reach the pattern stitches?

GG, thanks for the link.
The chart does look funny because it it holding spaces in the center and edges for the increases that occur. Don't work the blank boxes. The pattern for the chart is given in the areas that have alternating rows of which and pale blue background.
You should have 159sts at the end of row 76. Work 2 edge sts, start the chart, repeating the boxes outlined in red 5 times. That'll bring you to the center stitch. Work that, then skip over the blank boxes to the
. Work to 2sts from the end and finally do the 2 edge sts.

Than k you . Now I can continue. I did increase to make it into a shawl instead of the smaller one. I was gone out of town over the weekend and had a great time visiting with some friends and several daylily gardens that would take your breath away if you saw them. I am attaching a picture of one I took. My shawl and hat set brought in $100.00 in the auction. The flower is called Voodoo Magic
