Welcome one and all!

Glomper--It could be your Pop Up Manager is preventing the videos from coming up. See if you need to allow pop ups from this site and you might be able to see the videos.

Hello, I'm Demonica and I'm a new knitter and new to the forum.

I agree with everyone else, this is an excellent site with very helpful information and videos.

I started knitting just after Christmas...My mom and dad got me the Stitch n Bitch book and my first needles and skein of yarn. While Stitch n Bitch is a very good book for beginning knitters, there were just some things I needed to see and no one near me is a knitter. With the help of your videos, in just a few days I was able to knit my first scarf (and I started knitting with absolutely no knitting knowledge less than a month ago).

I will definately keep checking the forum and looking for new videos...I'm sure I'll get stumped somewhere down the road...lol

Hello fellow knitters.
I am Erin. I'm in my early twenties and have been knitting, crocheting and sewing since I was about seven. My grandmother taught me how to knit and crochet, while Oma (my mother's mother) and my mom taught me how to sew. I've loved the textile arts since I was a child, and I hope to go into fasion design soon. But first, of course, I have to get through college.
I hope to learn alot while I am here, and hopefully I won't break the bank in the process.

D--Congrats on your first scarf! Photos?? Please share--we love that!

E--Oooh, fashion design! You can practice your knit patterns on us--we love test knitting! As for not breaking the bank...well, we just can't help you there--unless you want us to help you TO break it--that we can do!

It's brilliant to see so many Brits (or at least Brit located) types registering. Perhaps this will start a revolution of some kind!

(BTW There are no LYS in Central London - incase you're visiting.
Perhaps I should open my own!)

I realy miss Europe.. Meh... I think people are just, friendlier over there. Here in the states, to many people are into the whole clique thing and most won't talk to anyone that doesn't look like they have the same intrests. Or people are stereotyped because of what they happen to be wearing that day. If I wear just a little bit of black, I get these little old ladies following me around in department stores, while some preppy cheerleader type five feet away from me is sneaking something into her purse... Oh well... End rant of the day.
