I love this site. I have been knitting forever but mostly self taught so it is a great place to learn the right way to do things! My biggest problem is that I get caught up on reading the posts that I miss out on kniting time! Tillie
Hi there!
I'm Lizzi. I'm 23 from the North of England (Sunderland) and began knitting yesterday, learning from the very helpful videos on this site.
I began my knitting, aiming for a scarf, as I figured it's the ultimate beginner piece of legend! Sadly, what I've actually made resembles a bookmark with a corner in it... I believe this is due to some holes in the knitting. I only wish I knew how I managed to get the holes in in the first place... doh!
Oh well, I'm still pretty impressed with my first attempt. Now I just need to cut my losses and begin again!
I'm looking forward to chatting ro you all on here!
Hi all,
My name is Christina. I am 24 and live in Minnesota, USA.
I have been knitting on and off since college. I can do basic knitting but I don't know any of the complicated techniques so that is what I am hoping to learn.
I have made a lot of scarves and even an afghan for a wedding present for my sister. However that was just a bunch of blocks I sewed together. It still came out nice though.
I am excited to find this site and tap all of your knitting knowledge!
I just started knitting last month and am having fun so far! I'm a massage therapist, so there are days where I'm sitting around a lot waiting for clients (down time). I hope to make good use of that time making lovely scarves and mittens for my husband.
Oops...I posted in the wrong spot! Geez, I'm off to a great start, lol.
Hi from WV! I'm Jeanie a 30 year old stay at home mom with 2 handsome boys! I seriously just bought my first pair of knitting needles the other day and sat down to learn today! I got the cast on down and the knit stitch (a bit slow on it still though, lol) This site was recommended to me and it has been sooooo very much help! I thought I'd join the forum to meet other knitter's and hopefully make some knitting friends along the way! WOO!
I have been knitting since I was about 8 but I have never done anything more complicated than purling.
I have been scrapbooking for the last several years and I even worked in a scrapbooking store but I started teaching art at a school and I just don't have the creative energy to make scrapbook pages. Maybe again in the summer.
I have really enjoyed knitting lately because I can make things and be creative but I haven't been putting as much pressure on myself.
I am learning some new things and I am really interested in learning more-- like how to make those cool wrist warmers!
Nice to meet you all!
Abby
