Hi, I'm new to the site, too. I've lurked a bit and learned a lot. This looks like a great place.

I've been knitting for several years now, and I'm ready for a challenge, so look out, I'm going over to another thread to ask some questions!

Thanks!
I have thanked my lucky stars each day for the past four weeks for this site. I have learned a lot.
I knit before, years ago, but I am now off and running. I have completed the obligatory scarves (!) and I am now half way thru an afghan, half way thru the back pannel of a sweater and making traditional phentex slippers (in which I received help from member KnittingQueen).
I have begun to organize a group here in Toronto with like minded individuals, from novice to advanced. So far, we have not met, but I have recieved a great response. Anyone else out there in TO, please PM me if you'd like to get together!
Thanks again!

adding a crochet outline to a knitted item
Hi, I'm Jackie and I'm in a fix. Can anyone tell me how to or direct me to a "how-to" site that will show me how to attach a single crochet to a knitted item. I'm making my granddaughter a pair of knitted kitty slippers and the inside of the ears are knitted then the instructions say: "With crochet hook add the body color and work sc across outer edge of ear. " I'm not sure how this is done. Can anyone help me?

You've created a Newbie Knitter! :)
THANK YOU for your site, I decided to try my 'hand' at knitting, the books w/drawings couldn't give me all the steps clearly, I rambled on to your website and kept rerunning the videos till I 'got-it' !!
I commute by bus to work and have started several of the ladies knitting as well - and I recommend your sight and have purchased your cd's - would be great if they were on DVD's so I could watch on my TV.
I have alot to learn, but made several fun-fur scarves, have to learn to make dimensional items such as hats, gloves, socks and sweaters and techniques such as intarsia etc.
I would love to have a local ladies knitting group in the Lockport NY area as well !
Thank you again and keep up the good work!
