I need help!
I've been knitting for about 3 years. I am very lucky to have a wonderful Knit Shop in my town. I am working on a project and I need help. I would just pop on down the the shop in the morning, but I'm thinking she will be closed for the Holiday and I know that you all will understand my frustration if I have to wait till Tuesday to get help. I am working on the Cotton Candy Jacket in the BH&G's Hip Knits book. I am ready to start the left front of the jacket, but I am stuck on the cast on part. I don't know that I know how to cast on to stitches I have on the stitch holder. Picking up stitches I can do. This I'm not sure how to do. Can anyone help?

Welcome, to our 2 new members! Hope you like it here, and bttldblndegrl, I'm sure a moderater will be along shortly to move your post to the How To section, where I'm sure you'll get more responses. But, don't worry about posting in the wrong forum, a moderator or admin will move it, no worries! Anyway, welcome to our very friendly community!

 I have the Hip Knits book...I wonder where it is? Anyway, what are you having trouble with? Casting on more stitches after you've started knitting?

Welcome to the KH everyone!

Take some time to look around at the different forums to see how we are set up. There are forums for questions, sharing, knit-a-longs etc. At the top of the forum there are some tabs that have videos, patterns, glossary, etc. There are sticky posts that offer helpful information on various topics at the top of each forum as well.

Feel free to ask questions if you need help. There is also a handy search feature that can give you a wealth of information from users who may have asked the same question when they were learning.

In addition to the great videos here in KH here's a few more helpful sites.

Hi - another forum newbie here. I am from Adelaide South Australia, and have been knitting since I was a child. Knitting time was always special bonding time with Nanna, and being able to knit is one of the best presents anyone has ever given me (thanks Nan!). I mostly knit things for my 18m old son, but have started on a jumper for me - the second adult knit jumper I have ever made, just because I have no patience! But it's a quick knitting Lamb's Pride so I might get there this year. If I don't start too many other smaller projects in the meantime... LOL
